Strong Tenant Engagement at Grŵp Cynefin Roadshow
Grŵp Cynefin has completed another highly successful tenant engagement roadshow across communities in Gwynedd, reinforcing its commitment to listening and responding directly to tenants.
The roadshow was further strengthened through partnership working with North Wales Police, with local Police Community Support Officers joining visits to engage with residents and support community safety.
Over the course of the week, teams visited 18 estates across Penrhyndeudraeth, Cricieth, Blaenau Ffestiniog and Porthmadog, speaking directly with residents and providing support and information.
More than 210 information packs were distributed, with staff engaging in meaningful conversations with 75 tenants. The roadshow also saw 25 tenants sign up to receive contractual correspondence via email, helping improve communication efficiency.
Tenant feedback remains central to the work of Grŵp Cynefin, with 40 “How Are We Performing?” satisfaction surveys completed during the visits. These contribute to key performance reporting to the Welsh Government.
The roadshow also provided an opportunity to connect tenants with vital support services:
- 8 referrals to the Welfare Team
- 10 referrals to Energy Wardens
- 4 referrals for digital support
- 5 referrals for employment and training assistance
- 10 warm packs distributed to tenants in need
Encouragingly, tenants showed strong interest in shaping future services:
- 16 new tenants expressed interest in getting involved with Grŵp Cynefin
- 5 tenants signed up to support recruitment processes
- 5 tenants joined the Style and Design Panel for maintenance programmes
Financial welfare insights gathered during the roadshow highlighted a mixed picture, with most tenants managing but some facing challenges. Extra support was offered to those who felt it could be useful for them. Out of those surveyed:
- 26% ‘living comfortably’
- 34% ‘doing alright’
- 31% ‘just about managing’
- 9% ‘finding things difficult’
The initiative was supported by 15 members of staff, three Grŵp Cynefin Board members and three local PCSOs, underlining the organisation’s collaborative approach.
Nerys Price-Jones, Director of People and Culture at Grŵp Cynefin, says:
“Our roadshows are now a well-established and valued part of the Grŵp Cynefin calendar. We actively encourage colleagues from across the organisation to take part – they provide an invaluable opportunity to engage directly with tenants, hear their concerns first-hand, and ensure our services reflect real needs in our communities.
“The response has been fantastic, and it’s clear that tenants value the opportunity to have their voices heard.”
Simon Barlow, Police Sergeant, Gwynedd South Neighbourhood Policing Team says:
“This has been an excellent example of partnership working and a really positive initiative. It’s been great to be involved. Opportunities like this to connect, build relationships and engage directly with communities are invaluable. They strengthen collaboration and make joint working much more effective.”
Grŵp Cynefin will continue to build on the success of these events, strengthening connections with tenants and partners and ensuring their voices remain at the heart of service delivery.
