Grŵp Cynefin strengthens its Housing Team with new leadership and recruitment drive

Grŵp Cynefin, is announcing exciting changes within its Housing service, with new leadership and a drive to strengthen the team responsible for supporting tenants and sustaining tenancies.

Grŵp Cynefin owns over 5,000 homes with more than 10,000 tenants, operating across six counties in north Wales and north Powys. The group includes two subsidiaries, Canllaw and Care and Repair Conwy and Denbighshire.

The organisation has recently appointed Rhiannon Dafydd as its new Head of Housing, bringing fresh energy and a clear focus on supporting tenants, preventing arrears, and helping people to maintain safe and secure homes. Alongside this, Awel Morris, has stepped into the role of Financial Welfare Team Leader, helping shape a modern, people-centred approach to income collection and tenancy support.

Grŵp Cynefin is now recruiting three Income Collection Officers to join the team. The jobs are based in three of Grŵp Cynefin’s offices, in Bala, Denbigh and Penygroes near Caernarfon. Two are full time and one part-time.

Grŵp Cynefin’s new Head of Housing, Rhiannon Dafydd says:

“I’m really pleased to be given the opportunity to continue the exceptional work the Housing Department does in supporting all our tenants. These three new roles are key as we look to strengthen the support we can offer.

“These are great local jobs. We will consider people at entry level – the most important thing is having people skills. Grŵp Cynefin can provide the training. We’re looking for empathetic people who will work with customers and tenants with kindness and respect. These are roles that make a real difference – supporting the business while also having a positive impact on people’s lives.”

The Income Collection Officers will:

  • Work with tenants at every stage of their tenancy – new, existing and former.
  • Help maximise rental and service charge income for Grŵp Cynefin.
  • Provide clear, friendly advice to tenants about rent, budgeting, and payment plans.
  • Help prevent arrears by offering early support.
  • Work closely with the wider Housing team to ensure tenants receive an effective, efficient service.
  • Support tenant participation and help people engage with their housing service.

These roles are key to ensuring that tenants receive the support they need to sustain their homes during challenging financial times. With training provided, the posts offer an ideal opportunity for people looking to start or develop a career in housing, customer service or community-focused work.

Grŵp Cynefin encourages applications from people who are positive, organised, good communicators and passionate about helping others.
