Partnerships Supporting Communities Before Christmas

Grŵp Cynefin has been working with local contractors, partners who collaborate to build affordable homes for local people, to support community projects in the run-up to Christmas. Their contributions will make a real difference to people at a challenging time of year.

These contributions are part of a commitment to create social value in local areas as part of building contracts.

One of the partners, Gareth Morris Construction, contributed to the Conwy Valley Food Bank, helping families in need of food support over the Christmas period. NWPS Construction Ltd contributed to HWB Dinbych and the Denbigh Youth Project, supporting the valuable work that helps disadvantaged families in the area. Williams Homes (Bala) contributed to Congl Meinciau, Botwnnog, a Grŵp Cynefin centre that provides a safe space and support for the community, running activities to tackle loneliness and promote health and wellbeing.

Ffion Pittendreigh, Grŵp Cynefin’s Community Initiatives Manager, said:
“It’s heartening to see our partners supporting local communities. These contributions will make a real difference to people facing additional challenges over Christmas.”

Arwyn Evans, Grŵp Cynefin’s Head of Development, added:
“Working closely with local contractors is central to our way of working. Their contributions show how collaboration can strengthen communities and create a lasting positive impact.”

Councillor Elizabeth Roberts, who represents Betws-y-Coed and Trefriw, an area benefiting from the Conwy Valley Food Bank service said:
“It’s great to see local businesses coming together to support our communities at such an important time of year. These contributions not only provide practical help but also show genuine care and cooperation. They make a huge difference to families and projects working hard to improve the wellbeing of local people.”
