Are you looking for that extra bit of support whilst maintaining your independence? Awel y Dyffryn in Denbigh is our latest development, offering high-quality homes and a friendly, close-knit community, developed for older people who want to continue enjoying their independence.

Awel y Dyffryn is an extra care housing scheme opening in the autumn of 2021 by Grwp Cynefin in partnership with Denbighshire County Council. Located in the heart of Denbigh and close to shops, it provides a superb opportunity for people over 60 to live in a safe and homely environment with flexible care and support services.

Awel y Dyffryn is a £12m scheme that offers people over the age of 60 the very best of modern living in a comfortable and safe surrounding.

You will be able to continue to live independently in one of our 66 self-contained apartments, with the reassurance that care and support is on hand 24 hours a day, if required. Priority for apartments will be given to Denbighshire residents.

Comprised of 42 two-bedroom and 24 one-bedroom apartments, you will benefit from a flexible level of care and support which can be tailored to suit you, prolonging your independence. Our staff are always sensitive towards changing needs.

Residents are supported and encouraged to live a full and active life, develop their interests and hobbies and to maintain their health and wellbeing. Grwp Cynefin staff provide housing related support for all tenants and there is a dedicated and experienced care team is on site 24 hours a day. Personalised, flexible support and care plans, should they be required, will be developed with you to suit your current and future needs.

With your own front door, your apartment is your home where you can continue to cook, entertain and enjoy an independent lifestyle. Each apartment consists of a kitchen, living area, bathroom and bedroom. The scheme is designed to enable you live in your own home for as long as possible and to make independent living easier.

Renting a one or two bedroom apartment at Awel y Dyffryn also gives you access to communal lounges where you can socialise with other residents and enjoy various planned activities, such as arts and crafts, coffee mornings, exercise class, quizzes, choir singing, gardening and intergenerational sessions with local children and young people.

The resources at Awel y Dyffryn are designed to promote overall health and wellbeing as part of the wider community, tackle loneliness and improve mental health.

A midday meal is served in the communal dining area daily, giving all residents the opportunity to enjoy a delicious and well-balanced meal and chat over lunch
