Changes to your Rent Friday 1 October 2021
Do you get help from Universal Credit towards your rent? Then make sure you update your Universal Credit Journal!
Grwp Cynefin wrote to you last month, telling you that your weekly rent will change on 4th October 2021. To avoid missing out on any money that you are entitled to it is important to report this rent change immediately on your Universal Credit account – when you do this your housing costs will increase based on this new rent amount. It only takes a couple of minutes
You can update your journal with the new rent by clicking on your To Do list. Click on Report a Change, then Housing. You will then be able to enter the new rent and if applicable service charge amounts. See our step by step guide at the end of the page.
Don’t delay, get it done on the 4th of October.
Unfortunately, even though you may be eager to update your journal with the new rent charge, the way Universal Credit works means that you will have wait until the new rent charge is applied – which is on the 4th October 2021.
Here for you.
Please remember it is your responsibility to tell Universal Credit about the change in your rent, to ensure you receive the correct money that you are entitled to. If you are still unsure about what you need to do regarding updating your Universal Credit Account, our Income Collection and Welfare Officers are here to help. Please call 0300 111 2122 or use the live chat function on our website. Please have your email address ready so we can make sure our records are up to date.
